The worst thing-well not the worst- is waiting to see where a hurricane is going to hit land. I went through four of them last year and thought that we had been missed entirely this season. Wow, here I am again, reading all the forecasts about Wilma and not knowing whether to run or stay put. It does nothing for your nerves except to make them very jumpy. Three years ago I lived up north and then we retired and came to sunny Florida. I had never seen a wild alligator and now they are my neighbors, never been through a hurricane and am becoming an old hand at going through them. Now I hear that snakes that are not indigenous to Florida are slithering around. I never thought I'd be having so much fun when I retired!
