Okay, this weather sucks. When will I want to go outside again?
For many of us, we will NEED to go outside later today either to go to work or to shovel our driveway of the new snow that will start falling shortly. But when will we WANT to go outside? It could be sooner than you think.
A band of fluffy snow has started falling this morning across southwestern Wisconsin, southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, and will start affecting much of eastern Wisconsin shortly. So not only is it going to still be bitter cold with temperatures similar to yesterday, but add snow to the mix to make it especially nasty outside. Even for those who love snow (like my kids!) it will be too cold to even want to go outside and play in it.

Thankfully, this cold snap will be ending soon. We may warm up just a few degrees tomorrow, but starting Sunday we’ll be back in the 30s, with temps in the 20s and 30s expected all of next week as well.

Tonight: Snow tapers off early this evening. Accumulations expected: 4-6” in southern Wisconsin, just 1-3” in east-central Wisconsin. Basically the further north you live, the less you’re getting. Sky clears overnight. Still really cold. Lows slightly below zero.
Tomorrow’s Conditions: Mostly sunny.
Tomorrow’s Temps: A little warmer. Highs in the mid- to upper teens. Lows tomorrow night not dropping much, still in the low to mid- teens.
Tomorrow’s Winds: Light from the southeast, increasing in speed late.
Sunday: Cloudy and breezy with a light mix of precip possible. Much warmer with highs in the low to mid- 30s!
Next Week’s Outlook:
Conditions: Light snow (or a mix) is possible Wednesday with the potential for a heavier snow on Thursday. This next storm system could have a lot of moisture with it, but maybe the bulk of it will miss us to the southeast? Or maybe we’ll get nailed with our first snow day / school cancellations of the season? Wait and see.
High Temperatures: In the 20s to start the week, then in the 30s Wednesday and Thursday.
