Today will be cloudy with rain beginning this morning and ending late this afternoon. There is also the risk of a thunderstorm. There is expected to be 10 to 20 mm(0.4 to 0.8 in) of rain in total. The wind will be northwest at 20 km/h (12 mph). Today's high will be High 15C(59F).
Tonight will see clearing this evening and the northwest wind at 20 km/h (12 mph) becoming light early this evening. Low 4C(39F).

Yesterday I finished converting the ebook for the Queen and put it on her ebook reader. It sure was a big job but now she'll be able to carry the ebook with her to read while waiting for a train and while sitting outside.
The RCMP did a major cleanup of the drug trade here in Portage. 21 dealers were arrested at 7 different homes. As well as drugs a number of restricted weapons were siezed including hand guns, sawed off shotguns and a machete. A machete is not illeagle to own as long as it's not intended purpose is to be used as a weapon. I have one hanging in my garage and used it to remove parts of the dead lilac bush.
What I thought was good is that they RCMP also published the names of the accused and the charges laid. The article in the local news said that Operation Demerit, as it was called, has been in the works since October.

Good morning Tony...MUSH is such fun, you never know what he will say next....ROFLMBO Going to be a warm day here with temps in the 80s. Sure nice to see them but a bit on the warm side after being in 60s for a while. It will settle down by Mon to our norms in the low to mid 70s. So much better to get those little jobs done outdoors. I had totally forgot that this is the Victoria long wknd but I am sure a lot of folks are glad to have the extra day off work. This is when the rush is on to get those gardens in etc. I have a few seeds to throw into the ground and a few bulbs to plant other than that, I will be done with my flowers. Not going to go to the expense like I have in the past. If it comes up great, if not well its only a couple of dollars lost.

Have a great day rascals...

Quoting plapman from Masshysteria's blogsite:
Good morning Mass.
I was just looking at the NORTHEAST REGIONAL AND NATIONAL WEATHER MAP and saw snow in Saskatchewan and Northern Manitoba. Yesterday I saw a neighbor preparing a camper for the long weekend. The poor people will freeze.
Enjoy your day while I miss another Long Weekend.

Good Morning, Tony!

It looks like you and your fellow La Prairians are presently receiving quite a bit of precipitation. However, judging from the nearly 46F temp registered in your "Personal Weather Station" located on the side of your blog, it should be warm enough to be coming down in the form of rain instead of snow. Hope so! Hard to believe that, in mid-May, parts of Canada remain subject to that dreaded white stuff, SNOW! It sure would put quite the crimp on anyone's weekend plans, especially, if it includes camping! Let's hope your current rainstorm sweeps through quickly, non-destructively and is soon replaced by much warmer sunnier weather! It's definitely time for everyone in North America to experience a complete spring thaw!! LOL!

Interesting to learn, from your post in the blogheader, that your local/regional law enforcement has put a serious dent in any on-going drug-related crime sprees. We don't hear about machete's being used as weapons around here, despite it sometimes feeling like "a jungle out there". Hope the capture of those 21 wonton drug thugs gives you and fellow citizens some peace of mind, especially, when it comes to those vulnerable youth who may easily get caught up in drugs or the trade.

It appears Alley's Canadian region and mine in the Northeast, U.S., are equally aligned for some terrifically warm, sunshiney weather today. Thankfully, it looks to last until Monday. After the many months of drought over the winter into very early spring, Mass. could still do with more rainfall now expected Tues. - Weds. I just don't want any accompanying thunderstorms! ARGH!

May you and the "Queen" find ways to spend an enjoyable weekend together despite the inclement weather outside! Good going on setting up her E-Reader with the computer! I guess we know how she'll be spending her time trapped indoors. Hope you find enjoyable indoor activities as well!

Did the webcam catch the perps in the act? Hope not, that'd be too close for my comfort!

Looks like a rainy day for you! Have a good one!

Good morning Tony:
I agree that the RCMP did a good job - anyone now trading in drugs is probably rough trade. BUT!
The problem is not the drugs - the problem is the laws.
Prohibition has never worked.
Way back when I dabbled (but did not inhale) the seller would bless the customer: "Have a good trip" was standard and well meant.
40 years of "Say No!" has produced much stronger drugs available and some scary hard asses stocking weapons and cash.
Edit: on both sides of "The war on Drugs"

Down here in Texas, the drug wars going on in Mexico are terrifying, and the carnage is unbelievable. The latest was the discovery of 49 people outside Monterey - not merely executed, but gruesomely so. The Atlantic has a current photo essay on what's presently happening in Mexico which I nearly posted. Decided against it - it's really quite horrifying, and the numbers are overwhelming.

I have no idea what's wrong with our government re: the whole thing. It appears they're in cahoots with the drug lords. They certainly aren't doing any of the things - preventive or curative - that could be done to help the situation. OK. End of rant. ;)

HOpe all's well - just wanted to get a greeting in before you changed your post. Oh - and say good for you on getting the ebook set up! You're so tech savvy!
